This informative book about worms is a wonderful introduction to these fascinating creatures. The contents are divided into sections about different types of worms (segmented, round, flat etc.) followed by some interesting facts and guidance on composting. The book concludes with instructions on how to set up a worm farm and a glossary.

The font is a large clear typeface and the language used does not shy away from accurate biological terminology. The illustrations consist of large colourful photographs and diagrams and all of them are acknowledged in a list under the bibliographic details.

This is a well-designed, attractive information book about familiar invertebrates. The tips for putting them to good use to improve the soil and fertilise the garden are a useful message for all readers, young and old.
