    Neon Baby Numbers

Electric Confetti,  Neon Baby Numbers, Hardie Grant Egmont,  1 Nov 2016,  20pp.,  $14.99 (board book)  ISBN: 9781760129316

Neon Baby Numbers is a large, sturdy board book containing brightly coloured pages in a range of colours. On each left hand page there is a large number from 1-10.  The right hand pages have outline drawings of a specific object to count.

What distinguishes this book from the many other counting books for babies is that the luminously coloured outline drawings mimic the appearance of neon lights.

The numerals are bold, bright and clear introducing baby to a clear graphic representation of numbers. Some of the drawings, on the other hand, are not obvious representations of their real life counterparts, thus missing the opportunity to familiarise baby with some objects not encountered in everyday life.

This book’s strength is in the appeal of its vibrant, brilliant colours.
