HAWKE, Roseanne Kelsey and the Quest of the Porcelain Doll UQP, 2014 153pp $14.95 pbk ISBN 9780702253317 SCIS 1661279

Kelsey and her family are in Pakistan and homesickness is partly overcome by Skype conversations with her Nan who recognises the feeling of alienation that her granddaughter is experiencing.  And so begins the story of Amy Jo recounted to Kelsey and finally a reality as Nanna sends the doll in traditional dress.  This moving story of tolerance, learning and patience is an ideal beginning for a greater understanding of other cultures.  Recommended.
