Clementine Rose and the Wedding Wobbles (Clementine Rose #13)

Jacqueline Harvey, Clementine Rose and the Wedding Wobbles (Clementine Rose #13), Puffin Books, January 2020, 160 pp., RRP $14.99 (pbk), ISBN 9781760892104

Jacqueline Harvey delivers fun and intrigue as we share in Clementine’s exciting journey in the lead up to her mother’s wedding. It is only a matter of days until the big event, and Clementine is super excited to be playing the all-important role of flower girl.  It can be hard to focus on the upcoming wedding though; Penberthy House is the busiest it has ever been in its entire history! Although their eccentric wedding planner is there to add some flair to the occasion, his tastes are not so appreciated by Aunt Violet; who has seemed somewhat troubled her since Clementine spotted that mysterious letter in her Aunt’s handbag.

Amongst the calamity around every corner before the special day, is an overly curious house guest, staying longer than what is considered to be usual! This brings added elements of mystery and page turning wonder. With what seems to be unending surprises, small twists, and mini mysteries; how will they ever be ready for the big day?

For the first timers meeting young Clementine Rose (and her dearest companion Lavender, the teacup pig)- what a delightful character she is. In this book she shares wisdom beyond her years, optimism, and considerate insight; which is not surprising in view of her extraordinary life!

This is book 13 of 15 in the ever-popular Clementine Rose series. It is perfect for the 6-8-year-old, and I can certainly appreciate why the love of these books is so widespread.
