The Lighthouse at World’s End (The House at the Edge of Magic #4)

Amy Sparkes, The Lighthouse at the World’s End (The House at the Edge of Magic #4), Walker Books, April 2024, 240 pp., RRP $16.99 (pbk), ISBN 9781529512632

This is the fourth and final book in the House at the Edge of Magic series. If readers haven’t read the first three (we have reviewed two of them previously), they may feel a bit lost as this book begins at a breakneck pace and throws them headlong into a frantic tale with a large cast of characters. Young protagonist, Nine, and her friends must travel to the mortal realm to find a priceless stargold locket to rid themselves of a particularly pesky witch. However, even if they can achieve this, they still have to discover a way to release its power at the Lighthouse on the Ilse of Illusion, where they will uncover old battles, promises broken and a mystery that leads directly back to Nine’s lost mother.

For readers who love goblins, magic and witty banter with their witches and wizards, this could be for them.
