Jerry’s Window by Y K Willemse is a middle-grade novel that follows the story of Jerry, a 10-year-old boy known for his mischievous behaviour, such as letting off stink bombs and firecrackers. When Jerry discovers a mysterious window with monsters lurking beneath, he is scared straight. The monsters don’t take good children, so Jerry promises to be good forever. Eventually, he slips up and steals a lollypop. This time, when the monsters come to take him, Jerry’s parents step in to save the day.

The book explores themes of creativity, self-discovery, family conflict, and community. It’s a fun and imaginative story that will appeal to children aged 8-10.
