Allen adds another level to the story by placing the scientific name discretely under each depiction—thoughtful and valuable information without distracting from the impact of the pictures and rhythm—and perfect for those who wish to know more. And the Six-legged Superheroes section at the end of this book provides additional information for those curious to know more.
Sarah Allen is a designer and illustrator based in Victoria, Australia who takes inspiration from Australian flora and fauna to inspire a love of our beautiful planet. Allen creates books that delight, entertain, and inform. Allen is well-known and revered as the creator of Jumping Joeys and Busy Beaks, the latter by Affirm Press was shortlisted for the CBCA Early Childhood Books 2021. Her books have become a much- loved part of reading and learning. Ingenious Insects is sure to be added to the list of childhood favourites.
