Philip Bunting, I Wonder – A Book of Questions with no Answers, Walker Books Australia, July 2024, 32 pp., RRP $24.99 (hbk), ISBN 9781760657802
I Wonder – a book of questions with no answers is certainly that—a whole lot of questions and considerations to read of, think about, talk through, and ponder upon. There are some ideas we may have accepted without question, such as the Big Bang Theory as the beginning of our planet. But have we ever considered what came before the Big Bang; really thought about it? Surely something was going on. This is the dilemma in which we find ourselves on every page of this fascinating book; a book that asks questions to stimulate conversation and arouse curiosity in all who enter its pages.
Wonderfully illustrated by author, Philip Bunting, the visual imagery is captivating. The bold, colourful, and simple design elements are splashed across every page demand our attention as a ‘teaser’ for our minds. There is just enough information to arouse thoughts (and more questions) without giving the answers because, as Bunting tells us, we just don’t know.
I Wonder – a book of questions with no answers is a rich and rare treat for our senses and our minds which encourages and challenges all of us to explore everything from the meaning of life to a cure for hiccups …. this book explores a few things that lie just beyond the edges of our understanding.
