Beautifully photographed, Dr Norman introduces his young readers to the amazing world of animal-life through clever titles such as ‘Big nose,’ ‘Giant eyes’ and ‘Big ears’ with just enough information to excite and perhaps inspire his young audience to do further research. Did you know for example, bats that hunt insects often have a nose shaped like a flower? or that the African elephant uses his large ears like a fan for cooling himself? This is a beautifully produced little book with a fact file, small glossary and index at the end. A terrific introduction to the wonders of evolution and the natural world. Highly recommended, 4+.
