Liz Bannister (text), and Beck Feiner (illustrator), All about the GUT, Berbay Publishing, April 2025, 40 pp., RRP $26.99 (hbk), ISBN 9781922610973
All about the GUT is indeed all about the gut. From the mouth to the large intestine, and all of the stages in between, All about the GUT is a whimsical yet informative narration of the design and purpose of our digestive system and all aspects of gastrointestinal health.
The author, Dr. Liz Bannister, is a paediatric gastroenterologist, and wrote this book in response to a demand on more literature for children on how the body works. All about the GUT is the third instalment in Berbay’s All About the Body series (All About the HEART, and All About the BRAIN have previously been reviewed). A series designed to help young readers with a better understanding on how their body works and additionally to encourage an interest in science.
Brimming with fun text, bright illustrations, and factual information, All about the GUT is recommended for ages 3-99, extending to readers of all ages, as all can find ways to enjoy this book and build on their knowledge on basic physiology.
