Antonia Pesenti creates beautiful picture books. This is her third title in the board book format. Like her earlier books Rhyme Cordial and Rhyme Hungry, Antonia explores and reveals playful language with surprising rhymes and colourful images. Children are enticed to open the flaps and react. My favourite it the hairy bread, although some readers will love the musical bears or whatever tickles their fancy.
Her innovative design with black words on white paper juxtaposed with clear and simple images, invites young hands to search for surprises.
A lovely book for a birthday and any time. It’s suitable for ages up to 5.
