Parcel for Penguin is the book’s opening line while images of Penguin and friends shiver in the Antarctic cold. The parcel is signed ‘To Penguin with love from Gorilla’. And so, begins a fun guessing game of what might be inside the wrapping.
This is a fun fast read for preschool ages 3-5 years. The alliteration and repetition in a book of less than 100 words will hold their attention. As the ‘surprise’ is revealed as a pair of gorilla sized thongs, the readers will laugh along with Penguin and friends as they use them as toboggans.
The illustrations are bright and colourful in a comical fun style. This is one of a series of Parcel for… books by author illustrator Shelley Knoll-Miller.
